ATV riders know that your recoil starter doesn't work when
it's packed with mud and water. Mud enters the engine via the crankshaft seal
damaging your engine and causing hundreds if not over a thousand dollars worth
of damage to your engine.
MacSim Guard
kit includes Lexan®
shield, gasket and hardware

To install your MacSim Guard:
- Remove your recoil starter and discard.
- Remove original starter pulley. Retain original pulley
bolt and o-ring. If you do not know what your recoil pulley is, STOP and let
your local ATV technician do this for you.
- Make sure surface is clean and then replace original
starter pulley with boss provided in MacSim Guard Kit using original
pulley bolt and o-ring.
- Apply RTV silicone in groove of weep hole plug.
- Insert plug in weep hole just enough for it to stay (do
not try to push plug all the way in at this time).
- After plug is inserted, apply a layer of RTV silicone
across plug.
- Install MacSim Guard with bolts provided in kit
as follows: hold MacSim Guard against engine and hand tighten bolts.
Make certain that the plug stays in place as you hand tighten bolts.
- Tighten evenly to 7ft lbs. of torque. Do not use any
power tools on shield bolts.

If you use your ATV in mud and water that exceeds Honda’s recommendations, then
this product is for you!
