Installation Instructions

CAJUN GAS TANK

  • Install the Cajun Gas Tank mounting bracket as illustrated in Figure #1. For ATV's with bar spacing too wide for the standard bracket, refer to Figure #2 (Standard Alternate #1) which shows the same procedure only with the flat bar extensions and screws provided.

  • Install Cajun Gas Tank on mounts with straps and hardware provided. As illustrated in both Figure #1 and Figure #2. Notice that the 3/4" wide strap is straight except on the ends and has to be formed around the tank. It is best to screw one end down before forming to tank.

  • Very IMPORTANT - always use Teflon tape on threaded gasoline fittings. It is best plug the side the muffler is on and use elbow hose barb on the other side when installing gas line. Slide approximately 3" of gas line on hose barb then your filter and then route your gas line to #2 on the valve. Hook the center outlet on the switch valve to your carburetor and your main ATV tank to #1 on the valve. It is sometimes best to install lines before installing valve in body. Use the hose clamps provided on the hose barb at the main tank and the carburetor.

  • To install the valve, you will need to drill a 7/8" hole in a fender or preferably side panel then notch the hole on the right as indicated in Figure #3. Try to install the switch valve as close as possible to the same level as your carburetor.

  • After you have installed your tank, make sure everything is secure and add 3.5 gallons of gasoline. Make sure your gas lines are full and have no air in them. In about a week or so, you may notice the tank start to expand slightly on the sides, this is normal.
